Thirteen kidnapping victims were rescued by men from the Kogi State Police Command under the Rapid Response Unit.
The victims, 11 men and two women were abducted from a hotel in the Eleite area of the state along Ajaokuta Road on March 25, 2023.

Command Spokesperson, SP William Aya, who confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, March 28, said the development follows an order from CP Police Commissioner Akeem Yusuf that efforts are needed to ensure that all The victims were saved without being hurt.

“Today, Tuesday, March 28, 2023, officers of the Rapid Response Unit commanded by Commander SP Obafemi OJO quickly acted with credible and identifiable intelligence kidnappers’ hideout in a forest around the Zariagi-Kabba Crossing. , the thugs exchanged gunfire with them,” the statement read.
“Due to superior police firepower, the thugs were forced to flee with varying degrees of injuries, while 13 kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed. An AK47 magazine containing six rounds was recovered from the scene.
Aya, who said the Police Commissioner commended officers for their bravery and diligence, urged residents, especially neighboring communities, to remain vigilant and report any could not be seen with a gunshot wound to the nearest training or security agency.
