According to the former vice president, Muslims should make sacrifices for others and work toward peace during this holy month.

“As Muslims, we are aware that the fundamental principles of this holy month center on devotion to God and sacrifice. This year’s Ramadan falls on us Nigerians at a pivotal moment for our beloved nation, according to the statement.

“As individuals and as a people, we are in a state of despair and uncertainty. Nonetheless, the month of Ramadan is a gift from the Almighty that gives us the chance to put our problems, uncertainties, and hopelessness to rest.

It is obvious that the core values of this holy month are what we need to heal both our personal and national traumas. The first is the significance of sacrifice for the cause of peace as well as for our families and the people around us. The second need is that everyone participates in God’s worship with piety.

“So, while I wish us a joyful Ramadan fasting, I exhort all Muslims in Nigeria and around the world to make use of this holy month of Ramadan to seek spiritual direction. May God grant you all blessings and regard the offerings we make during this holy month as acts of worship.

In the presidential election on February 25, Atiku finished first runner-up. Along with the second-place finisher, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), he is contesting the outcome in court.
