The Lagos State Uncommon Offenses (Portable) Court sitting at Bolade, Oshodi on Monday, 27 Walk, 2023 sentenced a fake Lagos State Activity Administration Specialist Officer, Omotutu Bamidele, to a 2-year imprisonment term for imitating and blackmailing cash from drivers over Lagos.

The sentenced fake LASTMA officer was arraigned by LASTMA on a 2-count charge of imitating an open officer by claiming to be a staff of the Lagos State Activity Administration Specialist (S.78 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015)” and getting cash by false trap (Sec. 323 of the Criminal Law, Lagos State) sometime recently the court.
The PUNCH reports that Bamidele was captured a couple of days back on Olu Holloway Street, around the Alfred Rewane region of Ikoyi by a LASTMA Monitoring/Surveillance group driven by the Zonal Head, Ashafa Moyosore.
In a press articulation discharged by the Chief, Open Issues and Illumination Division of LASTMA, Mr. Adebayo Taofiq said Judge Kehinde Ogundare sentenced Omotutu Bamidele to a 2-year imprisonment term without any choice of fine after he argued blameworthy to the 2- tally charges leveled against him.
Judge Ogundare emphasized that the convict ought to serve the imprisonment term without any choice fine due to the gravity of the offenses committed.

The Court Prosecutor Barr. Olufemi Adekunle expressed that both offenses exacted against the convict negated the Criminal Law of Lagos State (2015).
In his response to the judgment, the Common Director of LASTMA Mr. Bolaji Oreagba said the judgment was a welcome advancement because it would serve as an obstruction to others who are still blackmailing cash from guiltless individuals of the open beneath wrong affectation.
Oreagba moreover famous that the “Our (LASTMA) Checking and Surveillance Unit which has presently been completely rebuilt would proceed to search for other awful components exasperating the peace of the society”
