
The 33-year-old actress Gbemi Anjola’s passing has plunged Nollywood into sadness.
The promising actress lost her fight with ovarian cancer on Friday, March 24, 2023.

According to information, Gbemi received a diagnosis for the condition in 2021. She had to travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for chemotherapy, which lasted for almost 6 months.


After obtaining medical care in Dubai, Gbemi returned to Nigeria cancer-free. But, on Friday, March 25, 2023, she experienced memory loss and a headache and was sent to the hospital.
She was tragically declared dead by the on-call medical staff.
Coworkers Itele and Zainab Balogun broke the tragic news of her passing, and they both posted tributes to her on their Instagram pages.
Nkechi Blessing, Kunle Afod, and Biodun Okeowo, among other Nollywood celebrities, have left their sympathies in the comments section.
“This video was when you are battling cancer and you come back with good news aunty Kemi am now cancer free, people truly turn out for you then,” the speaker said. God is the best, Gbemi. Settle in.
On Instagram, Itele stated: “Vanity is vanity.”
“MY LOVE, MY GORGEOUS, AGBEKE MI,” Zainab Bakare wrote. O, YOU’RE SLEEPING. OKOMI SEBI, YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU, BUT I REFUSE TO TYPE RIP. OYA CALL ME AND WE’LL TALK AS USUAL, BABY.
The post’s commenter, Nkechi Blessing, expressed weakness after learning of Gbemi’s passing.
Biodun Okeowo and Kunle Afod also spoke.
With the caption “Gbemisola,” Rafiu posted a photo of a candle that was in flames.
