By On April 10, 2023, troops stationed for internal security detained a courier for terrorists who were carrying 1000 rounds of special 7.62mm ammo.
In Kaduna State, the troops also killed two terrorists.
According to Major General Musa Danmadami, Director of Defence Media Operations, troops of Operation Forest Sanity working with the Defence Headquarters Special Forces and acting on reliable intelligence captured a bandit leader’s messenger in Kaduna State’s Mando community.
He claimed that when forces intercepted the errand boy, he was on his way to buy 1,000 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition.
He claimed that when the military arrived at a bandit gathering place for a follow-up operation, they attacked the bandits there with superior firepower and neutralized two of them.
Together with other various stuff, the forces also found two AK-47 weapons, six AK-47 rifle magazines, 250 rounds of 7.62mm ammo, various charms, and N200,000 alone.
The military high command praised the soldiers who participated in Operation FOREST SANITY and urged the public to provide the military with reliable and timely information on criminal activity.
