According to John Barnes, Liverpool doesn’t need to get involved in the competition for Josko Gvardiol because there are other positions that need to be filled.
Attractive Croatian defender
His occupation is in the Bundesliga

Klopp will be busy in the approaching elections.
The Reds are among a number of European teams said to be interested in Croatian international center-half Gvardiol. After putting up strong performances at the 2022 World Cup and capturing the attention of his Bundesliga club, RB Leipzig, it is thought that the brilliant 21-year-old will soon be moving on.
Despite ties to clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea, Barnes is not sure that Gvardiol should make Anfield his next stop. The former Liverpool player said to BonusCodeBets: “Josko Gvardiol was really impressive in the World Cup, but I don’t necessarily think that we need him right now. We have excellent players like Joe Gomez, Ibrahim Konate, Joel Matip, and Virgil van Dijk. So, we do not require fresh players for the position of center-back.
“Gvardiol would be a great addition, I think. He is powerful and has many positive traits. He is a great athlete and a very mobile player. He could serve Liverpool well, in my opinion. But once more, we cannot rely on individual quality. Even if we bring new players in, the team has to make them look good and not the other way around.”
