A young man named Joseph Ogbu was sentenced to death for the murder of his 89-year-old boss 24 hours after taking over his business.
The Ikeja High Court heard the young man’s case and sentenced him to death by hanging after he was found guilty of fatally shooting 89-year-old manager Ajoke John and his deceased daughter. Her grandmother, Oreoluwa John, is over 38 years old. .
The accused may be the family specialist of two managers he brutally murdered on June 19, 2019, at their home in Surulere.
Equity Modupe Nicole-Clay found the informant guilty of three counts of theft and murder.
“He massacred Adejoke by strangling her and Oreoluwa by slashing her in the process. Since the defense did not raise a complaint about the adequacy of the confessional explanation, it is certain that the defendant admitted wrongdoing. I examine the evidence of security protection, a man from Okada, a certain Yahya Ibrahim, a housekeeper, and a police inspector.
“The respondent could not clarify what he did with all the stolen things he was found at around 2 a.m. on the day of his arrest.”
“The court is satisfied with all the evidence to convict the defendant. This court found Joseph Ogbu to be to blame for these intolerable misconduct, and you were therefore sentenced to hang. God bless your soul,” Equity Modupe Nicole-Clay added.
