After Chelsea announces his departure from the London club on Sunday, Graham Pottter’s controversial reign at the club is now officially over.
On September 8, 2022, Potter was chosen to succeed Thomas Tuchel.
After winning seven of his 22 games in charge, the former Brighton manager who was given a five-year contract only survived for seven months of that agreement.
In a formal statement confirming Potter’s dismissal, Chelsea also named the person in charge of the squad until a permanent manager is named.
“Graham Potter’s exit from Chelsea FC has been announced, according to the club. Graham has promised to work with the Club to make the transfer go smoothly.
“During his tenure with the team, Graham has advanced us to the Champions League quarterfinal, where we will play Real Madrid.
Chelsea wishes Graham the best of luck in the future and thanks him for all of his work and contributions. The team will be led by Interim Head Coach Bruno Saltor. read the club statement.
“On behalf of everyone at the club, we want to thank Graham genuinely for his commitment to Chelsea,” co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said. Graham is a coach and a person for whom we have the utmost respect. We are all unhappy in the decision because he has always acted with professionalism and integrity.
We will all be supporting Bruno and the team as we concentrate on the remainder of the season, together with our amazing fans. There are still 10 Premier League games to go, plus a quarterfinal of the Champions League is coming up. To end the season on a good note, we will give every one of those games everything we have.
Journalist and potential manager for Chelsea, Fabrizio Romano, has stated that the club will concentrate on hiring recently fired Julian Nagelsman, the former manager of Bayern Munich.
