Messi in Abu Dhabi: Al-Hilal’s Astounding €400m/Y Contract

Argentine superstar Lionel Messi was courted by the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal with a €400 million per year contract.

Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer analyst, reaffirmed this on Tuesday night.

Al-Hilal pleads Messi to join

He claims that Messi is being paid a salary of more than $438 million annually.

Messi is reportedly eager to continue his professional career in Europe, and Barcelona is waiting for Financial Fair Play before making a decision.

“Understand Al Hilal sent Leo Messi an official bid: salary worth more than €400m/year,” Romano tweeted.

Leo’s top priority is to stay in Europe. Barcelona is awaiting the FFP’s bid and the start of negotiations.

PSG’s offer was rejected at this time because Messi demanded sporting assurances.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 10 league goals for Al Nassr, will once again be Messi’s rival if he ultimately accepts the offer from Al Hilal.

That might make it possible for the legendary 35-year-old to go back to Barcelona, where he spent the vast part of his career. But, the Catalan giants have a number of financial problems to resolve, which would make a reunion improbable.

Messi signing with Inter Miami of Major League Soccer is another long-rumored possibility. But, if Europe continues to be a top focus, MLS might be a place he considers near the conclusion of his career rather than the upcoming year.

We’ll have to wait and see how long Messi plays. He led Argentina to the World Cup championship in December and still has 13 goals and 13 assists in Ligue 1 despite not being the elite force for PSG this season that he so frequently was for Barcelona.

Even though he is no longer the dominant force in the sport, he is still a top player who would improve any team in the globe.
