Nasarawa: The All Progressive Congress (APCGovernor )’s Abdullahi Sule was declared the victor of the recently held Nasarawa state governorship election.
The result of the election was revealed in the early hours of Monday by Prof Tanko Ishaya, the Returning Officer for the election.

Prof. Ishaya claims that 668,978 of the 1,899,244 state-registered voters were qualified to cast ballots in the election.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which is Governor Sule’s party, received 283,016 votes, compared to the APC’s 347,209 total votes, a difference of 64 votes.
Several gubernatorial elections have recently been held around Nigeria, including the one for the state of Nasarawa.
“According to the results from the polling places spread out over the State, our candidate easily won the election in the majority of the Local Government Areas, in keeping with the wishes and aspirations of the State’s citizens.
The PDP warns that the defeated All Progressives Congress (APC) has hijacked and diverted election results from two Local Governments, namely Lafia and Awe, to various locations including the Government House and the Federal University, Lafia where APC agents are altering and manipulating the figures in favor of the APC. This was done in connivance with compromised INEC officials and operatives of the Police and Civil Defence Corps.
“In furtherance of this nefarious act, the APC, using compromised security operatives have taken over the Collation Center in Lafia. Officials of the PDP and Independent Observers have been barred from accessing the Center where results are currently being altered in favor of the APC under the reported supervision of the Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government. ”

Nasarawa: The PDP cautions INEC to note that the people of Nasarawa State already have the results of the election from all the Polling Units in the State and that they are aware that our candidate won the election. “Any attempt therefore by INEC and the APC to announce doctored figures will be firmly resisted by the people of Nasarawa State who are now being pushed to the wall.
“This reprehensible and provocative action by INEC is dangerously pitching the citizens against INEC officials and is capable of igniting crisis as the people of Nasarawa State will never accept any results that do not reflect their Will as already expressed at the Polling Units. “The people of Nasarawa State have spoken clearly in electing Hon. David Ombugadu as the next governor of their State and all INEC is expected to do is announce the authentic results and declare our candidate the winner of the election. Anything to the contrary portends dire consequences in our polity.”
“To pursue this evil conduct, the APC has taken control of the Lafia Collation Center employing duplicitous security personnel. Access to the Center, where results are allegedly being changed in favor of the APC under the purported supervision of the Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, has been denied to PDP officials and Independent Observers.
The PDP warns INEC to take into account that Nasarawa State residents already know the results of the election from every polling location in the state and that they are aware that our candidate won the election.

Thus, the people of Nasarawa State, who are currently being pushed to the breaking point, would resolutely oppose any attempt by INEC and the APC to publish doctored data.
“The people of Nasarawa State will never accept any results that do not reflect their Will as already stated at the Voting Units, and this disgusting and provocative conduct by INEC is dangerously pitting the citizens against INEC personnel and is capable of sparking a catastrophe.
What INEC is required to do is release the official results and declare our candidate the election’s victor. “The people of Nasarawa State have spoken plainly by electing Hon. David Ombugadu as their State’s future governor,” the statement reads. Anything to the contrary portends disastrous outcomes for our political system.
