
The driver of a Mack Trailer that struck a home and murdered three people inside it in the Enugada neighborhood of Lafenwa in the Abeokuta North local government area of the State was brought before a magistrate court in Isabo, Abeokuta, by the Ogun State Police Command on Friday.
The driver, Olatoyosi Abiodun, who fled the scene of the accident but was later apprehended by police, was charged in court with six counts of dangerous driving, causing the deaths of three people, as well as causing damage to three other vehicles, among other charges, according to the image maker for the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made this disclosure in a statement released in Abeokuta.
On March 24, 2023, Abiodun, the driver of a Mack tanker trailer with the license plate Lagos T 1532 LA, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a house, destroying three other vehicles in the process. Three people inside the house perished as a result.

The motorist got away from the scene but was later located in Ibadan. He was detained there on March 27, 2023, and later appeared in court on six counts of accusations.
Meanwhile, Frank Mba, the State Commissioner of Police, has issued a warning to motorists, particularly those operating articulated vehicles, advising them to always check the roadworthiness of their vehicles before operating them.
The CP also cautioned articulated vehicle drivers to always be aware of other road users while operating their vehicles in order to prevent needless fatalities on our roadways.
