The Kogi State Police Command delivered a cheque for N39,815,369.74k to the families of 25 deceased police officers.

SP William Ovye Aya, Public Relations Officer for the Kogi State Police, announced the announcement in a statement released on Friday.
Aya stated that the money was delivered to the families of slain police officers by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Akeem Yusuf, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman.
“This service is part of the “Group Life Assurance Program” and the IGP’s “Family Welfare Insurance,” according to the statement, “and is aimed at enhancing the welfare of the families of the deceased Police Officers as well as inspiring other Officers who are still in active service to be vigilant.”
“At the presentation of Cheques to the next of kin of the deceased policemen in Lokoja, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, ACP Agwoye John, who represented the Commissioner of Police, noted that the loss of the slain employees is a tragic scenario.”
The message further asked the beneficiaries not to waste money and to use it wisely for the benefit of their families.
