Habeeb Adunni Olawunmi Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, is a contentious singer who is about to go to jail for being impolite to a police officer.

Police invaded the singer Portable’s apartment in the early hours of yesterday to make the arrest. On social media, a video of Potable yelling and confronting the police surfaced.

Following the incident, Olumuyiwa Adejobi of the Nigerian Police Force declared that Portable was likely to face punishment because of his treatment of the police officer.

Olumuyiwa Adejobi claimed that Portable’s refusal to accept earlier invites was the cause for some police officers to barge into his home and arrest him.

The police command revealed to Linda Ikeji Blog that Portable received numerous invites but refused to accept them, which resulted in his incarceration. The singer, nevertheless, objected and made a scene at his pub.

According to the police command, the singer’s behavior is illegal and is punishable in accordance with Nigerian criminal law.

According to the Ogun State Police Command, Portable had multiple invites, but he turned them all down. As a result, the police decided to raid his establishment and make him an arrest. Nonetheless, Portable resisted being arrested.

In a statement issued today, March 29, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi denounced Portable’s behavior and said that the police would take all necessary measures to look into his behavior and make sure that, depending on the gravity of the infraction, he was held accountable.

‘’The Nigeria Police Force has condemned the actions of one Habeeb Okikiola popularly known by his stage name Portable, in a viral video, where he was seen exhibiting irrational behavior and hurling insults at Police Officers carrying out their legal duty, an action which is criminal and punishable by the criminal laws of Nigeria.

The action of the singer in the video was unruly and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and incitement of violence against the officers who were detailed to execute a warrant of arrest on him for series of allegations of criminal acts leveled against Mr Portable. The NPF will take all necessary steps to investigate his actions and ensure that he is prosecuted for any criminal activity he may have committed depending on the severity of the offense.

The Police will not condone any unruly act, assault or attack on its officers who are on lawful duty. We need to respect our law enforcement agents who perpetually take the risk of maintaining law and order and fight crimes and criminality in our society.”
