Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s special adviser on digital communication, claimed that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, would never win the support of the Northern people.

He claims that the former governor of Anambra State never failed to express his distaste for the North.
Peter Obi, meantime, had stated in a tweet that, in addition to winning back his mandate, he was committed to addressing poverty in Nigeria, beginning in the North.
However, Bashir chastised Obi in a tweet in Hausa, accusing him of hating the North and using it as a proxy for the nation’s poverty rate.
Bashir reiterated his position in a recent tweet, asserting that Obi will never be elected president because the North would reject him even if he contested 1000 times.

“Yep. It’s undeniable Mr. Obi doesn’t like us. He never misses an opportunity to show that, during his time as a governor, when he was contesting and now as the former presidential candidate; so we are only reciprocating, and if he runs 1000 times, we will reject him 1000 times,” he tweeted.
